Meditation for Grief and Loss
March 20 @ 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm
Facilitator: Ellen Abrams, LMFT
Date: Monday, March 20th
Time: 6:00-7:15 p.m.
Location: Zoom
Description: This workshop will help us to learn to turn our attention, through meditation, to the heart of our experience with griefs, sorrows, and losses – the often denied or unmarked moments, experiences that have been cast out, cast away or un-witnessed. Contemplative practice offers a refuge in our own hearts to turn towards the grief in our own lives and to cultivate awareness, curiosity, and kindness even amidst what has felt difficult, unknown, or invisible.
Through meditation practice we can be in touch with a moment-to-moment awareness, a ‘right here right nowness’ of your experience, a slowing down in the swirl of our fast-paced world. Bringing kind presence to ourselves through grief and sorrow can be an intense, intimate, deep experience and with support perhaps we can welcome our whole-hearted selves a little more fully.
In our workshop together we’ll explore meditation practice both guided and silent (no experience necessary) that helps us to slow down, to pause, and to stay intimate with ourselves using kind attention, warmth, and presence.
