Throughout the year, Hospicare holds many events and programs, including ongoing grief support groups and special one-time or limited-time sessions. Hospicare also holds fundraising activities and outreach and educational events.

Saltonstall Writing Retreat

Dates: July 14-16 for overnight participants, July 15 only for single day participants
Time: Overnight guests: Arrival Friday afternoon no later than 6:00pm, departure Sunday by 1:00pm.
Saturday only guests: arrival by 10:00am and departure by 1:00pm. Space is very limited. 5 overnight guests, plus 5 Saturday day-guests
Location: Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts, 435 Ellis Hollow Creek Road, Ithaca, NY
Description: We welcome all people who are in the midst of, or have experienced grief who reside in Tompkins or Cortland County, and there is no cost. No one will be required to speak about their grief or “why” they are participating in the retreat, but all should be supportive of each other knowing the reason we have been brought together. There will be activities and structured time, but participants can also spend time alone if that is their preference. All participants are responsible for their own transportation. An information sheet with more details will be sent after registration is complete.
This program is made possible in full with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants program from the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the office of the Governor and NYS Legislature, and from Tompkins County; administered by the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County.
