Facilitator: Clare Jones
Date: Saturday, May 3
Time: 1:00-2:00pm
Location: BorgWarner East Room, Tompkins County Public Library, 101 E. Green Street, Ithaca, NY
In this sixty-minute session, we will write letters to our loved ones. The poet Emily Dickinson famously wrote: “This is my letter to the world/ that never wrote to me.” Gathering together as people facing loss and grief, we will write letters: to the world, to ourselves, and/or to others. The goal of the workshop is simply to make space for writing, connection, and reflection. Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own cards and stationery. Led by local writer Clare Jones. Made possible in full with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Community Arts Partnership. This is the first in a series of four writing workshops to be held this spring and summer. Check the website calendar in the future for information on the next session. Participants must reside in Tompkins County.
Registration is required by April 30th and there is no cost. Use the form below. For more information contact the Bereavement staff via email or phone (607) 272-0212.
