Registration Opens for Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare
May 3 @ 6:00 am - 5:00 pm
In 2020, thanks to our amazing community, we hit our goal of raising more than $425,000….in the middle of a pandemic!! THANK YOU!!
For 2021 we are planning a hybrid event with different options to participate. YOU choose which is the best fit for you!
- GO THE DISTANCE – Between May 3 and August 14 anyone can participate by doing any activity in support of Hospicare. Whether you are walkin’, knittin’ bikin’, or pickin’ up trash, we are grateful for your support!
- GET BACK IN THE WATER – Grab your swim buddy and get ready to swim 1.2 miles in our beloved Cayuga Lake. Join us for a scaled down Swim Day event on August 14 that adheres to CDC guidelines and prioritizes the safety of our community and our swimmers. We will start and end at the Yacht Club. Spectators will be able to watch via Live Stream.

Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare is a community swim (not a race!) for women (and those that identify as women) ages 18 and over. Together we raise funds which go directly to support our patients and their families in Cortland and Tompkins counties. In light of the changing times, our concern is first and foremost, safety for all of our participants. So while we would like to look forward to our swimmin’ women swimming 1.2 miles across Cayuga Lake on August 14, or by swimming laps in a pool – we will be working on alternative plans in order to keep everyone safe and healthy. Hospicare needs your support more than ever and we hope our swimmers can count on your generosity to support their fundraising efforts.
Our Mission Statement – Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare is a fundraising event that supports the care which Hospicare & Palliative Care Services brings to patients and their loved ones at any stage of a life-limiting illness and/or following a death. Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare raises funds and provides information and education about the agency and its mission in a manner that is inclusive, fun, and consistent with Hospicare’s ideal of respect for all people.
