Facilitator: Clare Jones
Date: Saturday, July 26
Time: 1:00-2:00pm
Location: Schwarz Jacobsen Meeting Room, Tompkins County Public Library, 101 E. Green Street, Ithaca
In this sixty-minute session, we will be creative together writing haiku, a short poem that typically evokes images of the natural world. Local writer Clare Jones will lead a short discussion about the form of the haiku, then lead a writing session where you can try out this form of expression. The goal of the workshop is simply to make space for creativity, writing, and reflection as people facing loss and grief. Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own notebook, etc. Made possible in full with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Community Arts Partnership. This is the third in a series of four writing workshops to be held this spring and summer. Check the website calendar in the future for information on the next session. Participants must reside in Tompkins County. Participants must reside in Tompkins County.
