Facilitator: Clare Jones
Date: Saturday, August 16
Time: 1:00-2:00pm
Location: Schwarz Jacobsen Meeting Room, Tompkins County Public Library, 101 E. Green Street, Ithaca
In this sixty-minute session, we will be creative together in a safe space – experimenting with words, images, and combinations of the two. The writer Lynda Barry has written, “You have to be willing to spend time making things for no known reason,” and in this spirit, local writer Clare Jones will offer a few different sets of writing prompts to try out new ways of expressing yourself. The goal of the workshop is simply to make space for creativity, writing, and reflection as people facing loss and grief. Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own notebook, etc. Made possible in full with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Community Arts Partnership. This is the last in a series of four writing workshops that were held this spring and summer.
Participants must reside in Tompkins County. Registration is required by August 13th and there is no cost. Use the form below. For more information contact the Bereavement staff via email or phone (607) 272-0212.
