We'll Speak to Your Group
As part of our commitment to community education, several of our staff members are available to speak to groups about serious illness, bereavement and the services provided by Hospicare & Palliative Care of Tompkins County. We have given presentations to nursing home staff, schools, community groups, faith communities, and human service agencies.
Dealing with loss
Our staff regularly offers programs at the Nina K. Miller Hospicare Center on grief and loss. We also address this topic in presentations to the community. Those topics have included: "Living with Loss When a Loved One Has Alzheimer's," "Grief in the Workplace," and "Why Is It So Difficult to Cope with Sudden Loss?" We have also spoken to staff in nursing homes about how to cope with multiple losses. All our presentations are customized to meet the need of the group.
