Hospicare invites anyone in the community who has experienced the death of a loved one to participate in our bereavement program.

Bereavement Services

For those whose loved one was a hospice patient, bereavement services span the first 13 months following the death. These include up to six counseling sessions, telephone contacts, a memorial service, bereavement groups, social networking support and regular informational mailings about grieving. We also offer bereavement support groups and activities to the entire community.

On-going Adult Support Groups

The community at large is welcome to participate in Hospicare's bereavement groups. These groups are designed for participants ages 18 years or older who have experienced a loss through death. These groups are held at the Nina K. Miller Hospicare Center unless otherwise indicated.

Time-limited Bereavement Groups

These groups are offered periodically throughout the year. Groups gather weekly for four- to six- weeks allowing an opportunity for support, instruction and a deepening connection between participants. Registration in advance is required as space is limited.

Socializing Opportunities for those who are Grieving

Monthly informal get-togethers over breakfast and/or lunch are offered at local eateries. These gatherings are hosted by trained Hospicare volunteers. No registration is required.

Good Grief Program

Hospicare offers quarterly events for children, teens, parents/guardians, and grandparents with an emphasis on instruction, interaction and activities. This program focuses on the whole family. Understanding that families are diverse, we welcome all.
